The Explosives Database Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the Smokeless Powders Database. It is the third in a series of databases that also includes the Ignitable Liquids and the Substrate Databases developed jointly by TWGFEX and the National Center for Forensic Science (NCFS).

The databases are designed to allow rapid online searches of product information and data that can assist in the investigation and analysis of explosives and fire debris. There are currently 100 records in the Smokeless Powder Database. NCFS will continue to maintain and populate the database with newer powders from various sources including vendors and manufacturers.

The National Center for Forensic Science (NCFS) of the University of Central Florida (UCF) working in partnership with the Department of Fire Protection Engineering at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) created a Burning Item Database. This effort was funded by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) under contract 2008-DN-BX-K167. Thermal Properties Databases
